What Really Matters?

I don’t care how spiritual someone is or professes to be—nor if they have a million followers on X.  I’m not inspired by people who always give advice.  I’m not moved by those who claim to know what’s best for everybody.  I’m less motivated by people who say something I’m doing isn’t going to help, or that my vote or political likings are all futile.  I’m certainly not going to take anyone’s health advice in a profoundly sick world of obesity and psychic darkness.

I'm not into guru worship, religion, spiritual practices, prayer or meditation—nor do I need to be saved from anything.  I have no qualms with those who wish to make a living "curing" others of their dysfunctions and traumas.  I don't pretend to know what's best for anybody as it is hard enough to do what's best or right for me.  We all have our own lives to live and live them we must.

It is a simple thing to comprehend what it is people do—rather than what they say.  There are many "smart people" on the net and they all have something to sell you.  But what matters to me at the end of the day, is only what they do.

All the knowledge in the world is useless without the ability to use it (action).  And that is what wisdom truly is—the ability to use knowledge practically.  Work smarter not harder.  It is rightly said, "wisdom comes with age."

Just remember, everyone who gives advice, sells it, professes to know, teaches or posts anything all have one thing in common—they're all going to die—myself included.  The great equalizer is death.  It comes for the poet, the saint, the philosopher, the doctor, the politician, the layman, and all the kings and queens.  That is the price we pay for life.  ALL doctors have failed to tell you that the leading cause of death is birth.  Imagine that?  "No one here gets out alive."  -Jim Morrison

Life is the action you give to the world.  And that is what people remember, not what you say, but what you do.  My greatest teachers and friends have always been "doers."  Action speaks louder than words and always will.  Nothing touches the human heart more than the physical world.  The heart itself is a physical organ—a biological drum playing the rhythmic beat of the ONE eternal Universal song—forever sounding in the deep.  It is also mental and spiritual in its functions.  I could talk all day about how much a hug can help you, how spiritual it is, and how much it means from a mental perspective, or I could just give you a hug straight away and let the action speak for itself.

I knew a guy who could hardly write, spoke less well than most, drank too much, smoked all the time, ate like shit, wasn't the best parent, didn't know anything about a "truth seeker" movement or the like, nor could he care less.  He was the best friend I ever had.  He helped me do things in the physical world that no one else could do—fix my lawn mower, chainsaw, build a pond, till my gardens, mend the fence, make repairs of all kinds, help me with anything I asked.  I did the same for him.  It was a friendship of "being there."  I learned more from him than all the truth seekers I've studied put together.  I use what I've learned from him more than I use the knowledge of "who or what runs the world."  He was a man of action, a simple farmer who lived a simple life.  He was close to the earth, but not in some highfalutin magical way.  When he passed at 57, I realized over those next few days how much he truly meant to me, his laugh and his character.  Everyone I know adored him.  He literally was a man who gave a friend who lost everything in a fire his own jacket off his back to help him keep warm.  I even wrote a song in his honor which welled up inside of me and helped me cry tears I will never forget.

My critique is this:

Much of this "truth seeking movement" for "higher consciousness" is pie in the sky, up in the clouds—promising you a better "future" world if only you adopt this or that practice, denounce this or that crutch, take this or that class, watch this or that planet, or subscribe to this or that media.  How about just moving?  Get up and do something simple.  Lend a hand to somebody.  Take a walk and talk with God—just the two of you.  Create.  Do something with a friend—even if they don't walk the hero's path.  Have tea or lunch with someone and laugh about the little things—for they are the true gold in life—imho.  Don't lose touch with what is truly sacred.  "Love is in the little things."  -Lao Russell

Humans are people too.  And we can't all walk the same road to "higher consciousness," nor must we ever forget--all things are teachers.  Even the least among us may turn out to be our greatest liberators.

I really love this message and such a needed one with the overwhelming amount of information out today.

At one point I thought I had to drop all my friends who weren’t in truth community only to find out the best times I had were with regular people.

I’m starting to really appreciate everyone for simply co existing together. Loving the little things like you said!
