Not on Our Watch!

The ultimate battle between good and evil is now.

You remember the stellar movies of yesteryear, you know, the ones that made your heart soar and your eyes water?

You haven’t forgotten, that behind every great and epic book, there was a character who stood up for what was right, like a divine being serving the highest good.

You won’t forget the fights in middle and high school against a bully, by a small and underestimated kid—who being pushed to the brink finally stood his ground and ended the abuse with a fist.

You remember the chills of doing something you greatly feared to do for the very first time—only to have mastered it later with hard work and unwavering dedication.  And now, you advise the younger generations to have no fear in life because you know the hard path to success and what it takes to walk it.

You live in a time when adversity defines greatness, where evil vaingloriously stands naked in the open, and where innocence is its victim.  

You know you were called up for this moment—to make a difference in this world.  To be there when it counts and stand with others who feel the same way—that there is still beauty and goodness left in the human heart, and it’s worth fighting for.

Yes, YOU reading these words right now!  YOU know the value of living a life worthy of remembrance—standing your ground, if but only for your children and grandchildren—that they might have the same opportunity to grow in a world where all is not lost to despair— where a life triumphant may be lived.

These hopes and dreams, they define an individual.  They express one’s inner heroic state.  And they together, define a nation incapable of going quietly into that dark night.

No my friends, we have only just begun to fight.  And we’ll fight until the dawn’s early light returneth once more, thereby we may say with good conscience, that we did not let our forbearers down—NOT ON OUR WATCH! ​
